The Mad Cap theatre in Wolverton, Milton Keynes recently played host to a glittering night of classical Asian folk music from Temoor Alam.
The night, entitled “An Evening with Temoor Alam”, was organised by MK Asian Women’s Network (AWN) and is part of a range of events designed to entertain and encourage Asian women to meet and socialise in a safe environment.

AWN’s events are also organised with the aim of attracting children, families and people from the wider community who wish to engage with the Asian culture in an entertaining way.
Local Milton Keynes talent Temoor Alam has been singing since his school days, and trained as a professional singer under Ustaad Mi Mukhtar (a shagird of Mehdi Hassan). Temoor has performed in concerts in Dubai, Indai, Pakistan, USA and several cities in the UK.
Playing with the accompaniment of his full band to a packed house, Temoor rendered a number of folk song favourites. After the interval Temoor took requests from the audience which proved very popular. Nasreen Ali, the MK Asian Women Network chair expressed her satisfaction at the night, and said the turnout on the night had been “very successful”
